UFE is a specialized procedure performed by an interventional radiologist. It is unlikely that your gynecologist has the additional training, skills, and equipment necessary to perform the procedure, though not impossible. When selecting a doctor to perform your UFE, be sure to ask how many procedures he or she has performed, and ask about the success rate of the procedure.
