Is the procedure painful?

The procedure itself is essentially painfree. You will be given a local anaesthetic before the radiologists makes the tiny cut in the skin above the artery in your groin. The administration of the local anaesthetic feels like any other minor injection -- like a brief pinprick. You should not feel any other pain during the procedure.
